Cheap Dog Training Collar Options
While obedience school may be a great solution for a
rebellious pup, there are quite a few other cheap dog
training collar options. Two such options are the shock
collar and the chain collar. Neither one is expensive,
but they both go a long way in helping to discipline an
unruly pup. A brief examination of these can give an
owner an excellent idea of what to use when Fido
misbehaves.
First, let it be said that discipline is a must for any
puppy. Without discipline, the dog has no borders will
not know the difference between right and wrong when he
becomes older. Discipline, however, should not be
equated with cruelty. If performed correctly, such as
with a cheap dog training collar, discipline lovingly
allows the pup to grow into a healthy adult. It is when
discipline is done for the sake of discipline that it is
considered abuse and can cause psychological issues
later in the animals life.
Most dog owners want to immediately send their hound to

them. Some are relatively expensive and may be overkill
depending on the circumstances. Before sending Fido to

If Fido has a persistent problem of running faster than
his master, a choke collar is one of the best cheap dog
training collar options. A choke collar is a chain link
collar that loops through itself. When the dog is
walking calmly by his masters side, the chain stays
loose and the dog hardly notices that it is there.
However, when Fido sees the Easter bunny and takes off
after him, the chain immediately pinches closed, cutting
of the dogs airway. After a few seconds, the dog
realizes that if he backs away, the collar will loosen
again and the dog can breathe normally After a few
repeated tries of this, Fido should learn that he needs
to stay calmly by his masters side.
Another cheap dog training collar is designed to prevent
annoying negative behaviors such as biting, barking, and
jumping. This is a shock collar. When the dog exhibits
the bad behavior, the owner presses a button on a hand
held remote. This delivers a high-pitched noise and a
light shock to the dogs neck. The shock is not enough
to injure him, but it does get his attention. One
advantage of this method is that the owner does not have
to use his hands thereby avoiding the dog associating
his masters hands with punishment.
The other advantage is that most dogs learn to associate
the noise with the sharpness of the shock. Soon into the
training process the dog does not need to receive the
shock the noise is enough to remind him that he is
doing something he should not be doing.
Most negative behaviors can be corrected with a cheap
dog training collar. The options available are based on
the owners preferences whether to go with a shock
collar or a chain collar. Each serves the same purpose
to adjust a dogs habits and make him more socially
acceptable as painlessly as possible.
