If youve ever had your neighbors call you in the middle
of the night to have you stop your dog from barking you
should consider buying a stop barking dog collar. Many
owners immediately think that this means purchasing an
expensive collar that will shock their dogs and in turn
make them irritable and angry pets. The truth is that
yes there are shock collars available but there are also
alternatives to the stop barking dog collar such as
citronella collars and high frequency collars.
It is important for the owner to understand the training
method behind the stop barking dog collar kits before
they purchase them and attempt to use them. The stop
barking dog collars can not only be used to help you
stop your dog from barking incessantly but to also teach
them simple commands. Many pet owners find that they
need these types of collars because after they purchase
a dog they get them toilet trained and then forget the
rest of the dogs training.
Many bad behaviors may emerge from your pet such as
frequent barking, jumping on people, chasing cats and
bothering babies learning to crawl in your home. Simple
commands that your pet should know include sit, stay and

dog collar.

barrier they will be shocked, sprayed or hear a high
frequency, depending on the type of collar you have
purchased. This is an effective method for keeping dogs
off of furniture or away from your cats food bowl or
even out of your babys bedroom.
The three types of collars all serve the same purpose
but operate differently to achieve the same results.
Shock collars emit a warning beep prior to shocking your
pet. The shock is given to the pets neck and only lasts
a second or two. If the dog continues the behavior the
collar will beep again and the second shock will last a
little longer.
These collars usually have a failsafe device that will
turn the collar off and rest it if the dog continues to
bark for a long period of time. High frequency collars
operate the same way and emit a frequency that only your
dog can hear. Citronella collars will warn your dog with
a beep prior to spraying them with citronella around
their snout area.
The type of collar you choose depends on how difficult
your pet is to train. If you have a dog that you have
tried the high frequency collar and citronella collar on
you may have to resort to the shock collar. If you are
unsure of how to train your pet and dont know which
collar is appropriate for you check with your
veterinarian or reputable dog trainer in your area.
Trying to train your pet with a stop barking dog collar
without knowing what you are doing could result in
aggressive behavior.
